Carol Wilson

C.A. Wilson is the pen-name for fiction of Carol Wilson, a distinguished author known for her best-selling business psychology books and the captivating novel Carnations in Lisbon.

Her acclaimed works include Best Practice in Performance Coaching, now in its third edition and featuring forewords by industry giants Sir Richard Branson and Sir John Whitmore.

Carol is a global expert in leadership and performance coaching. Having previously served as a board-level industry leader, she brings a first-hand understanding of the challenges faced by today’s managers and leaders. Her work spans large-scale leadership programmes and she is passionate about helping organisations create a culture that drives engagement, collaboration, and performance.

Earlier in her career, she held board-level roles in the music industry at Virgin, working closely with Sir Richard Branson, as well as at Island Records, Warner Brothers, and Polygram. She created the record labels DinDisc (Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark and Martha & the Muffins), and Arctic (Cream of Underground House series). During that time, she also signed and developed artists including Sting, The Buzzcocks, The Human League, XTC, Tom Petty, Iggy Pop, and composer Philip Glass.

Carol lives with her husband on the Thames in Buckinghamshire. She drew the inspiration for Carnations in Lisbon from her love for 20th Century European history and her holiday home in Portugal.
